Passive Monitoring
The NetQoS Performance Center passively monitors response time and QoE for applications such as SAP, Microsoft Exchange, Oracle, VoIP, and video without the need to deploy client-side probes or any software agents. From a passive appliance near the application-server infrastructure, the NetQoS Performance Center baselines the response time of every application transaction between every client and server and automatically alerts when baselines deviate from normal.
Active Monitoring
The NetQoS Performance Center also uses active monitoring technology for measuring response time and QoE within the existing infrastructure without deploying software agents on clients or servers. The NetQoS Performance Center interoperates with Cisco IOS IP Service Level Agreement (IP SLA) technology on Cisco routers and switches to synthetically test application transactions between two end-points on the network. The NetQoS Performance Center can configure, collect, and report IP SLA test data via baseline trends, scorecards, and dashboards.
Details from active and passive monitoring sources are aggregated to a single reporting console, where customized reports can be designated for IT management, engineering, and operations.
